Located in the heart of the Town of Banff, the Canalta Hotel Group Cougar Street project expands an existing multi-family residential complex to meet growing local housing needs. Ashton Construction Services was engaged as Construction Manager, working in close collaboration with Montane Architecture to deliver a seamless addition that integrates with the existing structure.
During the early design development phase, Ashton Construction Services provided comprehensive Preconstruction and Constructability Review services, ensuring the project’s design was optimized for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and buildability prior to site mobilization.
The new addition includes two new four-storey buildings plus basement, comprising 19 residential units and 39 bedrooms. The existing building remains in place, with the exception of the south wall, which serves as the anchoring connection point for the new construction.
This project represents a thoughtful blend of modern expansion and respect for Banff’s unique architectural character and community needs.
