Charleston Residences – Phase 2, Lake Louise Ski Resort

Following the successful completion of phase one, Ashton Construction Services (ACS) has moved into Phase 2 of the iconic Charleston Residences rebuild in Banff National Park for Lake Louise Ski Resort. This stage includes the installation of 24 modular units built off-site by Modus Structures Inc. Phase 1 included 85 bedrooms; Phase 2 includes 76, bringing the total number of employee bedrooms to 161.

Building within Banff National Park brings unique challenges, requiring close coordination with Parks Canada for all permits and strict adherence to environmental and site management requirements. To meet the project timeline, the ACS team completed critical site work before the ground froze, ensuring construction can seamlessly continue after thaw in early 2026.

As Construction Manager, the ACS team is responsible for:

🛠️ Site works
🛠️ Deep and shallow utilities installation
🛠️ Connections to existing utility infrastructure
🛠️ Craning and placement of modular units
🛠️ Exterior finishing, including siding, roofing, and entry area
🛠️ Connection of the building’s mechanical and electrical systems to the finished modular units
🛠️ Construction and finishing of the hallways and stairwells, joining the modular units together

Phase 2 will deliver modern, functional employee housing while maintaining the quality and efficiency established in phase one, further enhancing the Charleston Residences as a landmark project in Banff National Park.
